Job Description \ Location
Validate purchase orders, review and correct all confirmations to decrease service errors
Ensure timely communication within the department, company and other stakeholders
Maintain excellent communication, cooperation and teamwork among all stakeholders within the company
Cooperate with other company divisions to optimize the way we do things, and taking advantage of economy-of-scale effect in our sourcing activities
Analyzes current procurement activities and recommends improvement through more efficient procurement methods, quantity discounts, standardization, value analysis and cooperative purchasing.
Responsible for awarding a contract with consensus from the respective department
Responsible for the development and administration of the awarded contract.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation on all solicitations, responses, purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow up.
Safeguard good cooperation with purchasing departments globally, data transparency etc..
Be an active and responsible member of the company's Purchasing Council
Reviews tenders and purchase award documentation with respect to quality, suitability, delivery and pricing.
Promotes and develops contact and liaison with the external supplier community and company departments.
Interviews current suppliers to improve levels of service and new suppliers to develop and establish new sources of supply.
Collects and reports statistics to measure commodity and/or supplier performance
Coordinates and resolves problems with end user departments and suppliers
Assist in resolving Accounts Payable invoice discrepancies and variances.
Assists Shipping and Receiving with shipment /transportation related discrepancies and variances.
Performs other related duties such as special assignments and annual major objectives as required.

Must have industrial background
Must have excellent customer service skills.
Result oriented person with an openness to changes and who works structured and pro-actively.
Responsible for resolving complex problems in a timely manner
Able to develop good relationships with people and putting them at ease
Excellent listening skills – attentive hearing; demonstrating understanding from what has been expressed.
Organizing / Planning Ability – possess problem solving and time management skills; work well under deadlines; goal setting would be based on priorities.
Analytical Skills – Collecting, comparing and relating data from different sources; identifying issues; forecasting problems.
Integrity – must be trusted to perform duties in a proper and honest manner.
Must have very strong communication skills to negotiate with suppliers, work effectively via teleconferences with global team members, and work closely with local colleagues, and present performance results to upper management.
Maintains confidentiality of purchasing and financial information
Ensures compliance with standard practices, regulations and statutes
Education \ Certification
Certified Professional Purchaser accreditation and/or Business Degree and several years experience in a public purchasing environment an asset
Computer Skills – using appropriate computer skills and knowledge, ranging from data entry to systems analysis, to achieve work goals.
Wages \ Terms of Employment
Up to $30.00 depending on experience
Full-time hours
Can lead to permanent position with company
